Imagine for a moment that you are St. Peter being called to follow Jesus from your fishing boat on the Jordan. You have been asked to leave all that you have behind and follow Him, follow Him to a life that is new and brimming with unthinkable joy, though unforeseen sufferings. One can only imagine the relief you would feel when looking around and seeing so many other men, just like you, who are excited and full of zeal but also just as unaware regarding what's about to happen next.
Like the original twelve, we, too, are on the eternal quest to grow in relationship with our Lord and discover the path he has called us to in our lives. Like St. Peter, we're called to experience unrivaled jubilation, and probably our own unique number of crosses. Not only do we need the Holy Trinity, but, like the apostles, we need each other for support, for understanding, and for the reminder of what it means to follow the call and live our lives committed to charity and truth.
So just how do we accomplish this?
"Dear young people, let yourselves be taken over by the light of Christ, and spread that light wherever you are."
ST. JOHN PAUL II
