    • "Let's Fall in Love"

      November 8th, 2025 at 6 pm
       St. Cecilia Commons

How often do we hear one of these lines in conversations with friends:

"Where am I supposed to meet a single Catholic girl?"

"I've literally never been asked on a date by a Catholic man."

"I've been on CatholicMatch for ages with no good matches but a lifetime of awkward stories to share over a drink with friends."

Don't we all just wish there was a way for us to meet people in a casual way who are single, open to dating, and clear about their interest?

Back by popular demand get ready to "Fall In Love" this season! Upon being greeted at the Commons' door, you'll have the chance to get a fun fall drink, then you'll be able to mingle with friends and new faces before settling at your station with mixed company from around the room. We're trying a new ice-breaker activity, based off a participant suggestion, that you'll all take part in before the official speed-dating portion will begin: Fall cookie decorating! You'll be able to indulge in this relaxing activity while you chat with others station at your table. After indulging in delicious cookies and drinks, we'll head up to the main event. Each couple will have 4  minutes to converse (with the option of using our bowl of conversation questions!) before the men will rotate around the room to the next woman. Once all couples have chatted, we will enjoy a few more pours (and cookies), all the tune of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.

At the conclusion of the event, in true speed-dating style, all participants will turn in their feedback sheets, letting us know who they would like to see again. We will then go about determining who has matched with each other (i.e. both parties have declared an interest in seeing each other again), and in the next week we will reach out to the men to invite them to follow up with the ladies for a date.

Due to the amount of preparation for this event to run smoothly, registration is required for attendance. Please respond accordingly as no walk ins will be accepted.

Please note that registration will close on November 6th at 4pm. If you decide you are no longer able to attend and would like to request a refund, please reach out to MaryBeth (msproull@eastsideregion.org) before the close of registration.
    • Did you know?
Last spring, the average number of matches each participant received was 3! We also know of at least 15% of our attendees who are currently dating their matches (that's five couples!). There are also a number of participants who are now engaged!

  • frequently asked questions

      • Should I eat dinner before I attend?
        • We do recommend you get some dinner in your system before attending; while we will be serving drinks and cookies to decorate, there will be no dinner served, so please plan accordingly.
      • Who has been invited to this event?
        • While speed-dating is hosted by the Eastside Catholics Young Adult Ministry, we have invited young adults from across the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the Diocese of Columbus to participate. Our advertisements have been in several methods of communication to ensure a broadened pool of participants! Though we usually encourage bringing friends of all religious backgrounds to our events, due to the goal of this event being ongoing discernment of sacramental marriage in the Catholic tradition, we are limiting access to Catholic singles.
      • What is the dress code for this event?
        • The goal of this evening is not simply for you to make a connection with someone but also to feel a renewed sense of confidence in the dating scene. That being said, we encourage you to dress comfortably, authentically, and in a manner that creates a good first impression. This means that while your go-to wardrobe on a Thursday night might be oversized sweats while you binge Netflix, consider going with that new flannel you just ordered or that timeless sweater that always makes you feel unstoppable.
      • Is there a cost associated with this event?
        • There is a $15 cost to register for this event. This will pay for your drinks (of which we have many to choose from), your dessert, and your speed-dating materials. Not a bad deal if you would also happen to find that forever love!
      • Is there a cap to this event?
        • We will be capping this event at 80 people (40 men and 40 women), as this is the capacity given the spaces we have at our disposal. This also ensures that each person can converse with a plethora of new connections throughout both the structured speed-dating portion and during the casual mingling moments. Make sure to register today, as signups filled up last time within 5 days!
      • Is there an age limit to this event?
        • This event is specifically for Young Adults searching for spouses and discerning the sacrament of marriage. That being said, to keep everyone comfortable and set everyone up for success, the age range for this event will be 21-35 with no exceptions. This is not to exclude anyone who is continuing to search for a spouse; rather, it is to give those in attendance the best chance at the event.
      • I've already attended this event; can I attend again?
        • We want all our attendees to have great success at our speed dating event. While we will not turn away any Catholic Young Adults within the age range (listed above), we would ask that you prayerfully consider whether or not to attend this event if you have been to speed dating multiple (2+) times. We've received lots of feedback that some people seem to be chatting with the same group of people over and over, and we want everyone in attendance to have the greatest possible chance of success.
