"Let's Fall in Love"
November 8th, 2025 at 6 pm
St. Cecilia Commons
How often do we hear one of these lines in conversations with friends:
"Where am I supposed to meet a single Catholic girl?"
"I've literally never been asked on a date by a Catholic man."
"I've been on CatholicMatch for ages with no good matches but a lifetime of awkward stories to share over a drink with friends."
Don't we all just wish there was a way for us to meet people in a casual way who are single, open to dating, and clear about their interest?
Back by popular demand get ready to "Fall In Love" this season! Upon being greeted at the Commons' door, you'll have the chance to get a fun fall drink, then you'll be able to mingle with friends and new faces before settling at your station with mixed company from around the room. We're trying a new ice-breaker activity, based off a participant suggestion, that you'll all take part in before the official speed-dating portion will begin: Fall cookie decorating! You'll be able to indulge in this relaxing activity while you chat with others station at your table. After indulging in delicious cookies and drinks, we'll head up to the main event. Each couple will have 4 minutes to converse (with the option of using our bowl of conversation questions!) before the men will rotate around the room to the next woman. Once all couples have chatted, we will enjoy a few more pours (and cookies), all the tune of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.
At the conclusion of the event, in true speed-dating style, all participants will turn in their feedback sheets, letting us know who they would like to see again. We will then go about determining who has matched with each other (i.e. both parties have declared an interest in seeing each other again), and in the next week we will reach out to the men to invite them to follow up with the ladies for a date.
Due to the amount of preparation for this event to run smoothly, registration is required for attendance. Please respond accordingly as no walk ins will be accepted.
Did you know?
Last spring, the average number of matches each participant received was 3! We also know of at least 15% of our attendees who are currently dating their matches (that's five couples!). There are also a number of participants who are now engaged!
