Imagine you are sitting at your favorite Friday night hangout, sharing a drink and a bucket of wings with friends, when all of a sudden you see it in the distance. A large procession of people growing closer and closer. At the front, amidst the aromatic puffs of incense, the gentle flame of the candles, and the crisp white of the liturgical party's vestments, there it is. A radiant monstrance fashioned with gold whose rays seemingly emit a warm light coming from the window in the center. Jesus Christ, in the Eucharist, is made present and comes to provide you with an encounter of His love.
This is our goal during this National Eucharistic Pilgrimage: to facilitate a personal encouter between Jesus and every soul who meets Him passing by. How blessed are we that our Lord, in his cross-country journey, comes to dwell among our Family on a Friday evening in July, when we know that many will be out celebrating the July 4th holiday and enjoying the start of the weekend! What an opportunity we have, by traveling through the heart of Oakley and Hyde Park, to bring our Lord to those who may or may not yet know Him and watch the Holy Spirit transform hearts!
We invite you to join us for a very special once-in-a-lifetime opportnity that takes on a national significance. While our main event will take place Friday evening, we will have opportunities for you to engage with the pilgrims and spend time in prayer throughout the day on Friday and in the early morning on Saturday. Further, we invite you to consider attending a second procession and festival in Fountain Square, called "Jesus is Here", hosted by the Archdiocese. Please see our Family itinerary below!

- Eastside Family will provide pulled pork sliders and drinks, and we ask those attending to bring a side to share! Please use the form below to let us know what you will be sharing. Food can be dropped off in the parish Commons (located in the tall building next to but detached from the church and down the steps) on the evening of the event beginning at 5:30 PM. For other drop off times, please contact Haley Metzger.
- 8:30 PM : Eucharistic Procession through Oakley and Hyde Park
- We will depart from St. Cecilia and journey up Madison Rd. toward St. Mary. Wasson Way will serve as a halfway point for those wishing to do half of the procession. Those who prefer to do the first half may return to their cars at St. Cecilia, and those doing the second half culminating at St. Mary can meet us across the street from The Establishment to link up.

important details
- The St. Cecilia parking lot will be closed on Friday during the day, with one exception, to prevent individuals not attending the event that evening from utilizing our spots.
- If you are planning on attending daily Mass or Confession that morning, the front entrances will be open from 8:45 am to approximately 10 AM to accommodate this opportunity. The parking lot will then reopen at 4:30 pm, and we recommend getting there as close to this time as possible. Simply tell the parking attendants that you are there for the "National Eucharistic Pilgrimage event" and they will let you in. We will have overflow parking in some of the local lots, as well. If you have the ability, we also recommend carpooling with other friends and family who are planning on attending.
- For those who are interested in participating in the entirety of the Eucharistic Procession at the end of the night, we will have a bus available to shuttle individuals beginning at 5 pm and concluding at 11 PM.
- The reason for this earlier time is so that those who wish to park at St. Mary and then be bussed over to St. Cecilia for the beginning of the evening have this option. The buses will also be available to transport those who parked at St. Cecilia back from St. Mary to this original location after the Eucharistic Procession has concluded. The bus will leave every 15 minutes from St. Mary.
- All food contributions can dropped off at the St. Cecilia Commons beginning at 4:30 pm, and we will take care of laying them out right before the cookout.
- A HUGE "thank you" to all those who have already signed up to bring something to our Potluck Cookout on Friday evening. If you haven't had a chance to sign up yet but are planning on attending, please click the following button to share with us what you will be contributing to our table. We also recommend using a disposable container to promote an easier cleanup and tear down at the end of the night.
- A reminder that while we will have water at the cookout, at the halfway point on the Eucharistic Procession, and on the Archdiocesan bus accompanying us on the route, it would likely be a good idea to bring a water bottle if you are planning on walking the entire two miles from St. Cecilia to St. Mary.
- As of right now, the forecast is predicting a 89 degree day and while the weather should cool down as the sun sets, we want to make sure everyone is good and hydrated for this momentous occasion.

- We will have police presence in Oakley square, as well as to cross Wasson, and will be remaining on the sidewalks. Please feel welcome to do a smaller portion of the procession if you prefer. We tried to design the route so that it is easy to pull off and turn back at several points. Additionally, if you want to meet up with us and do the second half, that is also a very feasible option. The route is also largely residential, making it convenient for folks who might live in the surrounding neighborhoods.
- Finally, we are excited to share that we will have several priests joining us and taking part in the procession with us. Fr. Jacob Willig, Fr. Ethan Moore, Fr. Eric Wood, and our world traveler Fr. Anthony Marcelli will join Fr. Jamie and Fr. Alex in carrying our Lord through the streets of Hyde Park and Oakley, and will be there to share in the joy of this event!
