Infant Baptism

We ask that you have your infant baptized as soon as possible after birth. The Church defines an infant as one who has not yet reached the age of reason, usually under the age of 7. Please remember, you must be a registered parishioner at one of the parishes within the Eastside Family of Parishes to have your child baptized. If you do not belong to one of the parishes, we are open to baptizing your child with your pastor's permission. Here are the steps to having your child baptized:
Step 1: Reach out to our Sacramental Coordinator:
The very first step to having your child baptized is to contact our Sacramental Coordinator to schedule the actual date for the baptism. In addition to scheduling the date, we will email you a Registration Form which the parents need to fill out and return, and a Godparent Form that will need to be given to the Godparent(s) and filled out by them and their pastor, then returned to us.- To schedule a baptism at St. Cecilia Parish, St. Mary Parish, & St. John Vianney Chapel, reach out to Sarah LaBarge at slabarge@eastsideregion.org or (513) 321-1207 X 414.
Step 2: Register for a Baptismal Preparation Class (for 1st time parents)
After contacting our sacramental coordinator to schedule your child's baptism, 1st time parents and parents who have not taken this preparation class previously must register and attend the Baptismal Preparation Class. Baptism preparation is held regionally once a month at the St. Mary Campus in Hyde Park in Robisch Hall (located under
St. Mary Church on Shady Lane) or in the Marian Room at Seton Center at 11:45 AM. An email will be sent out the week of the class to verify the location. Please see the registration dates below to find a class that works for your schedule. Please fill out the digital form below to register for one of the Baptism preparation classes.
