How many times have each of us heard these and a myriad of other challenges to the Catholic faith from society, friends, and perhaps even family members? Regardless of how many years we have been coming to Mass and despite countless hours of solid formation, these common objections can still throw even the staunchest Catholics for a loop and cause us to doubt our understanding of the faith. 

This is where apologetics comes in. Apologetics is a branch of theology focused on the defense of the Christian faith. By becoming a practiced student in it, one can not only become advanced in the use of reason to draw out truth in the midst of confusion but one can also develop the confidence to embrace these crucial opportunities for counsel and evangelization.
