The sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated every-other year within the Eastside Pastoral Region. Families have the option of registering their children for three separate programs that prepare students for the sacrament of Confirmation. Any child enrolled at St. Cecilia School automatically prepares for these sacraments during their 7th/8th grade religion class. Parisioners who do not send their children to St. Cecilia School must register their child for the appropriate PREP/EDGE program. St. Cecilia Parishioners should register their children for the St. Cecilia PREP program here. St. Anthony and St. Margaret-St. John parishioners should register their children for their EDGE program here.
Preparation for Confirmation also involves parent meetings, a retreat, a service project, and a saint report which will be completed as a part of the classes.
It is through the sacrament of Confirmation that a person becomes fully initiated into the Catholic Church and receives the seal of the Holy Spirit. The sacrament provides an indelible spiritual mark on the soul, enabling a person to be a stronger witness for Jesus Christ through a lifetime of worship, prayer, and service. Preparation for the sacrament requires that our young people develop a deeper relationship with God and recognize the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
Inquiries regarding the preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation should be directed to our Regional Director of Religious Education, Cody Egner, at (513) 871-5757 ext. 215 or firstname.lastname@example.org
